Dinner
I had three ribs-homemade of course- and a quarter of a chocolate pie. MMMMmmmmmm. I’m good.
Irises for this year
This season has been horrible for my irises. The weather was warm, then cold, then freezing, then too much rain, and of course, windy in between each of those conditions. But, here is a few shots of some of the irises. I wanted to go ahead and get some pics while I could. The wind was bad today.

Hopefully the rest of the plants shed some blooms.

This one is not a hybrid, but hardy.
Zoo trip
The other day, Thursday, I went with Devri and Denise to the zoo. This was my first school field trip. Denise has been many times with the kids. In fact, this was her fifth time.
Devri was very excited about the whole thing. She was more excited about riding the bus to and from the zoo. She could have ridden back with us from the zoo, but she chose to ride the bus. Maybe she was honing her social skills. The trip was a bit exhausting because we had to do it so fast. You get to the school. Wait. Arrive at the zoo with the rest of the metroplex and twenty other buses all trying to get in at the same time because Thursday was a special day for schools at a cheaper price. Then the first thing we had to do was have lunch, which was a mile away.

I like it that my kid is the one that stands out in the crowd. If you can't find her look for the girl making ears at the camera. Hey, Devri.
I enjoyed lunch: Dickey’s pulled pork sandwich. Devri probably thought the hot was not that exciting.
The weather was nice, cool but not too breezy.

I thought this was cool. I figured out how to take a picture through the glass. And the penguin just stood there posing.
Well, the day was a thorough physical endurance. I still think it is interesting to see the wild animals in the zoo. Then we get in our cars and drive off.

We are done. We made it through the zoo.
more pics on Flickr.
My last thought about this is how nice the opportunity was to go to the zoo. I have always had jobs where it was too difficult to take off and go with them to the zoo. I appreciate the time that I had in doing this.

I applied for this job many weeks ago. At least I have heard about this one. I know that I have not written this past week but there has been quite a bit of stuff going on. Spring Break last week was uneventful. Wednesday I went to the Writers Workshop. Friday I had my meeting. Saturday I watched the kids all day and then we went to the in-laws to eat dinner. Sunday I took the kids to Trade Days USA at Texas Motor Speedway. Devri got a a glitter tattoo of a heart on her arm. She really likes it. I paid too much for it, though. David got a green Batman symbol. It is green because I would not let him get the Hulk that he wanted painted over his entire face. That would be something cool for Halloween and not for $15.00. How do you say not to kids?
Been working a little at looking for a job today. I have spent more time working on my story: XXXXXX. That is the secret code, the working title. Actually, I have a title, I just don’t want to tell anyone yet. I wrote about two typed pages today. I fort of got inspired by the girl a the last workshop I went that said she wrote 375 pages in two weeks. She said the pages were the size of books. Still, that’s a lot. That means I have to finish this thing. All of my thoughts are into this thing. XXXXXX is going to be awesome. It already is. I think I have tapped into a great source of creativity lately.
Oh, crap. I have to go do the dishes.
Site update
I updated some new pages on my website.
www.dalogan.com. I added a poem and an artwork page. Not all of the poems have links yet, but then I went way over the edge and put up some pictures of paintings. This is a stretch for me. I have always wanted some place where I can put up everything for display. I don’t know yet which is the best place. I like the web page way because I can style that. I know I could style the wordpress thing, but I haven’t taken the time to learn how yet. I hope to have a little gallery of paintings at some point.
Seedlings-experiment
This is the latest experiment. The little plant is a mesquite tree. The larger one is a mimosa. The mimosa is a seedling from last year.
This is also why I want a macro lens. Actually, this is the reason I want a camera that could take a macro lens. I know this is blurry.

This is the mimosa, almost camouflaged against the wall paper. Soon I will be able to take close-ups of my experiments so posts will look decent. Well, I say soon, in the next year would be good.
Six mesquite seedlings are now growing.
