This semester is finished
That is passive voice and no action or actor in the subject.
Woo hoo. This semester is over, done, not going to happen anymore.
This is awesome. And I threw the winning dart in the girls against the boys dart throwing contest at the bar after the test. Awesome.
only after many beers and many attempts, i nailed the middle bullseye.
Ready for bed now!
What the heck am I going to do with my time tomorrow?

These papers
Oh the fun. Yeah, my life is so interesting, I go to work and then work on homework. Woo hoo. Just a little sarcasm becuase I know that it will all be worth it in the end. I can’t wait until it is done. I miss my wife, my kids, and my home. Funn how school can take you away from that. I have been sitting here in the Barnes & Noble working for about 4.5 hours. Well, tomorrow I make up for it by picking David up from swimming and school. At least I have the flexible job where I can do that. Thank you, thank you.
Done with one-on to the next
So today we discussed the rough drafts of our paper. Tomorrow, maybe another one is due. I am a little foggy about the syllabus. In the original syllabus the professor had the rough draft due tomorrow. Now with the revised syllabus, no rough draft is due.
Well, the first one leaves me with plenty of items to rewrite. I need to make sure and talk about the document only in the methods portion of the analysis. I use the first person singular too much in the analysis results section.
Will work on that.
And the other thing avoid; one or two sentence paragraphs. I don’t know why that is a problem.
Work-must finish documents. Customers screaming for training guide.
I bet most technical writers actually have the joy of people needing them to hurry up and finish something. The lateness or lack of completion is all my fault. I needed to get my butt in gear. I should be working on it right now. Some people would. I feel guilty going to bed.
The longest weekend
So, the weekend is over.
Denise went shopping on Friday. I took the kids out shopping for a few hours as well. We had lunch in Target. Shopped for my secret santa gift. Denise got home just in time to help put the kids to bed. She showed me the huge haul of stuff she got. The kids will have the things they have always wanted; more electronic toys.
Yesterday was about a waste. I needed to get to schoolwork but didn’t
Today I got to the school work. I left the house about 6:00 am to go to the Starbucks in Denton. I was there for about four hours. I accomplished a great deal. Or really, Many things were accomplished. That last sentence was passive. They were accomplished by whom?
Anyway, today after i got home Denise left to go to her show. That was awesome, cause she made a little bit of money. The kids were good today. Wrapped up the day with more editing of the paper. I get nervous when the end is close. I stress about getting the material correct. When do I have enough material for the paper?
Thanksgiving 2009
Awesome.
Thanksgiving was Awesome.
This is part of the tradition Denise started. She cuts out leaves as placeholders. On each of the peoples placeholder we write things we are thankful for about that person. We also take a few of the leaves and write various things we are thankful and hang the leaves up to look like a tree.
This is the family arriving.
Dad arriving with sweet potato dish. Shortly after that we headed to the bar.
Seems like a yearly post
Well, I still remember the username and password for wordpress. Yeah.
Ok so this is the current thing going on right now.
Denise-or the oven- burned two of the Thanksgiving pecan pies. Now she is going to have to go back to the store tomorrow, which is Thanksgiving, and buy more ingredients. She will then come home and make more pies.
The pies are not lightly burnt. They are burnt, not usable. The time is now 10:30 pm. Not a way to start the Thanksgiving holiday.
Today we cleaned all day. I can’t remember the last time we cleaned this much.
Oh, also had a great interview with Mike Hamilton today. He gave great insight into single-source documentation. I am writing a research paper on single source documentation for school. I have read many articles to prepare for the paper. I think I am ready to write. Well, when I have spent so much time reading and taking notes, time to write. Now, I have to put the intelligent words on the page for the paper.
Well, I think I will sign off for now. I do plan on writing more, I really do.

July 28, 2009 – practice for presentation
Well, the day has been long. The time has been worth it.
We practiced for a long time on our presentation for tomorrow. Tomorrow’s presentation is a dry-run for a few people. The dry run is basically a practice before we do the real deal in from of entire company. The Case Competition has been fun, a lot of work, and worth it. I enjoyed the rehearsal time today with one of my Mentors, Troy. The one-on-one time was only because one of the other team members went back to work and the other member left the room because we sort of had a misunderstanding.
The misunderstanding is hard to explain. Basically one person said something to me. I said something back. The other person took it wrong. I said something back and the other person walked away. Well, that is how misunderstandings go.
But, we are able to keep working together. That is one of the benefits of the experience. You think you have patience for people and then it is put to the test. Then you have to decide if you are going to keep that patience going. There is something so important about stepping back and just letting the good happen. Don’t let impatience get in the way of building bridges. Don’t let impatience or judgements get in the way of you being taught by other people. When be teachable is more important, take it.
Anyway that is some of the deep thoughts from me today.
